Mirus IT’s 2024 in review
How is it December already? As we approach the end of a very busy year, we’re taking time to reflect on what we’ve achieved. Let’s look back over the past 12 months of innovation, growth, giving back and working together with our valued clients.
Grab yourself a hot cuppa and a mince pie and take a moment to reflect on 2024 with us. We’ll also take a sneak peek at what’s to come in 2025 too.
Our game-changing new products and services
The IT world is evolving constantly and, this year, we’ve embraced a range of new tech to make your work lives easier, more efficient and more secure. We thrive on exploring the latest tech developments and product launches to bring the most appropriate ones to you.
There’s been a huge amount of talk about AI in 2024. Microsoft’s AI tool, Copilot has gone from strength to strength. We’ve found it to be an accessible product that can save time, boost productivity, enhance efficiency and increase staff morale. We love the way it can take on some of those tedious tasks that suck up time in your day, leaving you more able to work on the interesting stuff. Not tried it yet? We recommend you do!
Another aspect of tech that’s evolved and become even more sophisticated, is cyber- crime. Over half of businesses have experienced some kind of cyber threat or breach. And if you’re a mid-sized business, that increases to 70%. That’s why we’ve introduced enhanced security services to our offering. Managed Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is a cutting-edge cyber security service that detects and prevents cyber-attacks by identifying suspicious behaviour. We manage it fully, around the clock, to give you security assurance and peace of mind.
Huntress is new to us this year. It’s adept at detecting cyber threats early and initiating a rapid response. It integrates seamlessly with your existing Microsoft 365 environment to give you top tier business protection.
These cybercriminals know that the weakest link in your organisation is the people within it. They play on human traits to find a way in. 90% of data breaches involve human error with phishing being a prime example of this. Business email compromise is big business for cyber criminals. But knowledge is power, and your teams can be trained up to reduce the risk of a data breach, fines or damage to your business’s reputation. New to Mirus, uSecure and security awareness training is the latest class of user-focused security. It’s designed to help organisations reduce insider threats and improve their overall security posture through engaging and automated training programs.
Talk to us about improving your resilience to cyber threats. We’ll find the best security solution for your business.

Giving back to charities and our community
It’s important to us to help and support our local community. We regularly host charity fundraisers in the workplace and take part in local initiatives. But on top of that, our team of incredible people have astounded us with their charity endeavours.
We’ve taken part in:
• The Pancake Day Race for The Parks Trust for Milton Keynes Rose
• Football Shirt Day for Prostate Cancer
• Macmillan Coffee Morning
• Buckinghamshire Community Foundation
• Movember
• Planting 5,294 trees across 10 projects (so far)
• MK Food Bank: we donate bags of food each month
• Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children
We must applaud the efforts of key Mirus team members who have raised money and volunteered their time for charities. They include:
Willen Hospice: in June, Becky Hatton raised £1,575 with a rugby shirt auction. Then in September, Peter Hack took part in the Berlin Marathon and raised £1,437 for the hospice.
Resuscitation Council UK: Gareth Watkins volunteers as a community first responder. For World Restart a Heart Day, he helped to train around 175 students at Sir Thomas Fremantle School in Winslow to perform CPR. He’s on call for around 70 hours a month responding to calls ranging from cardiac arrests and unconsciousness to breathing issues. We’d love to host an event like this at Mirus in the coming months too.
Adult Mental Health: we’re providing training for two team members to become adult mental health first aiders. We recognise how important this is in our community.
Looking ahead to 2025
We have exciting plans for next year, and we’d love you to be part of them. First up, on 18th January 2025 we’ll take part in a New Business Networking Event at Northampton Saints Rugby Club. As we said, we value being part of our local community and the business community is an integral part of that. To that end, we’ll be hosting our own SMB Technology Day which will take place next spring.
We’ll be working with new technology partners in 2025 too. Our Fresh Intranet launch will be in February 2025, and we’d love you to get involved to discover the benefits of this powerful platform.
The best-in-class DMARC analyser tool for marketers, Valimail, will join our portfolio in 2025. It provides a complete solution for both inbound and outbound emails, protecting your business from phishing attacks.
We’ll be introducing HALO which is provided by Sipcom. It enhances the Teams Voice platform to securely support next level collaboration. Then there’s Intune Policy Management, a tool that automates policy deployment for your devices. Watch this space to find out more about these new offerings from Mirus in 2025.
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year
We wish all of you a very merry Christmas. We thank you for your support and for working with us over the past year, and we can’t wait to collaborate with you further in 2025.
